Since a new CD doesn't exist and the Chinese Democracy Tour was heavily weighted toward AFD and UYI, it is safe to say that the current GN'R lineup is a coverband; a bunch of "hired guns," so to speak.

You are correct, Sir.
However, I have one question for you:
If and When Chinese Democracy (or whatever Axl decides to call it) is released do they retroactively become not a cover band?
I guess they won't be a coverband anymore, unless they continue to play old GNR songs. Fozzy is considered to be a coverband, even though they have some new material.
